Salman Khan hit headlines this week as he lost his cool with a fan trying to click a selfie at the airport. A video went viral wherein the actor was snapped at the Goa International Airport, where a youth tried to click a selfie with Salman, who snatched the phone and walked away. Arriving for the shoot of ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’, Salman was walking out of the Dabolim airport when the incident occurred. According to IANS, the students’ wing of Congress, National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) urged Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to ban Salman from entering Goa if he doesn’t apologise publicly.

Deepika Padukone faced a lot of flak for visiting Jawaharlal Nehru University and standing in solidarity with the students there. It resulted in her last release ‘Chhapaak’ getting down-voted in large numbers on IMDb. In a video shared by a fan club of Deepika, the actress stated, “Unhone meri IMDb rating badly hai, mera man nahi (They have changed my IMDb rating, not my mind)”. Deepika’s visit also affected the collections of the film, as netizens had started trending #BoycottChhapaak on social media.

Last Saturday the prestigious Padma Shri awards were announced with Karan Johar and Kangana Ranaut also receiving the honour. Usually engaged in a war of words, both the B-town celebrities went on to congratulate each other. Reacting to the same, Kangana had told a news portal that KJo ‘deserves’ the honour and that he has earned it with his efforts. On the other hand Karan told Mumbai Mirror, “As a filmmaker, I respect Kangana’s talent, craft, and what she brings to the table. She is an actor who has proved her mettle and is deserving of the honour.”

Dia Mirza broke down in tears at an event she was attending this week. A teary Dia stated, “Don’t hold back from being an empath. Don’t be afraid of shedding your tears. Feel it, feel the full extent of everything. It’s good. It gives us strength. It does. And this is not a performance.” Internet stood divided over her outbreak. While a few netizens called Dia Mirza ‘sasti Greta’, others expressed support to her. Speaking about her break down Dia explained that she turned emotional after she heard the news about basket player Kobe Bryant and his daughter’s death in a helicopter crash. “My day started really well yesterday… At around 3 (early morning), this news alert came on my phone for a very big player, NBA player, who I followed for a while. His chopper crashing in California disturbed me. It really upset me. There are different things that upset us on different days, but we take care of ourselves. I was overwhelmed because my blood pressure was low,” she said.
